A Guide to Hosting Conversations about Moral Injury and the Documentary “The Vietnam War”
In September 2017, PBS stations nationwide aired a documentary titled, "The Vietnam War," which is also now available on DVD. The documentary gives insight into one of Volunteers of America's focus areas—moral injury.
Hosting compassionate conversations after each of the 10-part documentary segments are shown will further inform and educate, shining more light on this relatively new field of study. Our hope is that through these ongoing conversations, we will be able to better address issues of moral injury effecting many of our service men and women, who continue to struggle with the long-lasting effects of making difficult moral choices in times of war. Download a detailed guide for hosting your own compassionate conversations around the documentary. Volunteers of America encourages individuals and groups of viewers to deeply listen, converse, and explore this important topic of moral injury.
