Fragile, Older Veteran Finally Has a Place to Call Home

As employees of Volunteers of America, we are blessed to be able to witness miracle moments when we see just how much our support means for the veterans, seniors and families we serve. Here is one such moment.

"As a fairly new employee, I recently had the opportunity to help an older, fragile veteran complete an application for an apartment. When it was done, he stood up and hugged me, and cried. When I asked him why he was crying, he said this was the first time someone had offered to help him in a long while. He is now living in that apartment and well on his way to stability. That was a great day for me."
